"So...how'd y'all meet?"

This is the question pretty much everyone Seiuli and I have met has asked us. I guess up here the question is actually, "So...how did you guys meet?" We used to be embarrassed to tell how we met, but now I so totally don't care. Sei and I are a LDS Singles success story. :) Sei had been divorced about a year and thought it would be "safe" to chat with people in far away places- like Texas. I was newly divorced, socially-retarded and hoping to re-learn how to talk to the opposite sex. Little did we know...
On June 21, 2001 I got an email from "Max5." He didn't have any pictures posted and, being the shallow person I am, I didn't want to write him until I knew he wasn't disgusting. However, I was sweeping my kitchen (hard to believe, I know.) and out of the blue I thought and said outloud, "I need to write Max5 back." Tristan, who was 6 at the time, said, "Who are you talking to Mama?" I went to the computer and wrote Max5 back the dorkiest email. I don't know why he wrote me back!! Anyway- we emailed back and forth and chatted online a few times. Come to find out he had seen my profile and wrote my name "Swampbrat" down on an old church bulletin in crayon. (He saved it. We still have it.) When he finally decided to write someone he looked up my profile and wrote me. I was his first. (Although I'm pretty sure I wasn't his last. He denies writing anyone else though.) Then on June 27 we decided we should talk on the phone. Now- I already knew at this point that I was going to marry this man. I KNEW it. So, I was a little concerned when I gave him my number and he didn't call. An hour after he said he'd call me I got back online and emailed him. The nerd had written my number down wrong!! He called me 5 minutes later. "Hello?" "Is Tori there?" I swear it was Steve Erckel on the other end of the phone. I knew his voice couldn't really sound like that... could it? He started laughing and said, "W'sup Tori?" I can still totally hear those words in my head. I was in love. His voice is so beautiful!! I still ask him to say, "W'sup Tori?" Gives me chills...
Anyway- we talked for about 4 hours that nite. And the next nite. And the next nite. We actually averaged about 5 hours a nite, 9 hours being our record. Being a sleep-deprived Mom right now I don't know how the heck I did that?! I had 3 kids age 6, 4 and 2 and somehow I was running off of 2 hours of sleep a nite. Crazy considering we have a hard time staying awake thru Leno now...
The cool thing is that at the time my sister lived in Utah. I had already decided to move to Utah. Not because I wanted to be a Utard, but because I knew I was suppose to move here. I didn't want to. I knew it would hurt my parents who I lived a mile from. And my little sister. And my little brother. And my kids... I still get sad thinking about it. :( So, I prayed and I told God that if He wanted me to move to "Mormonville" I needed a HUGE sign- like an offer on my house. The next morning my realtor called with an offer on my house. HOLY CRAP!!!! This all happened before I met Sei.
On July 5 I flew to Utah to look at apartments and to meet Seiuli. We decided to meet at my sister's apartment. When he knocked on the door I looked thru the peephole. Because of little drop off outside the door he looked about 4'4". I was a little nervous. When I opened the door I was happy to see he wasn't short- or atleast not as short as he looked thru the peephole! He just stood there, not saying anything. I was thinking, "Ok- is there somethin' hanging out of my nose??" So finally I said something I can't remember and hugged him. Later he told me he thought my sister and I were going to play a trick on him or something. Whatever! I was too nervous!! He took me to The Pizza Factory where I was too nervous to eat. We went to the Malt Shoppe to get some drinks. Then we went to some makeout place in the mountains where the poor guy got rejected over and over. I was too scared to kiss him. (BABE- If you're reading this I am still so sorry!! At least you knew I wasn't a ho.) We hung out for the next few days. Then I went home, knowing that when I came back I would marry that man.
August 4, 2001 I moved to Utah. Sei was at our apartment basically all the time. I think the kids thought he lived there because he would be there after work and was still there when they went to bed. On Sept. 4 we decided we wanted to elope. On Sept. 14 we did- to VEGAS baby!! We got married in The Candlelight Wedding Chapel
across from Circus-Circus with Doug, our limo driver, as our witness. It was so fun even though a lot of people were pissed off at us. (I'm sorry. I thought we were adults...) On Sept. 21, 2002 we were sealed in the Provo Temple after obtaining sealing cancellations from our previous marriages. We invited all the pissed off people.
It's funny to me that some people take years to figure out they do or don't want to marry a person. I knew in like 2 emails. ;) Our 1st Valentines Day I put all our emails, letters, cards, chats, etc... into a big binder. We still continue to put things in it today. It's fun to read our 1st emails and laugh at what a dork I was (am) and how Sei exagerrated things. I'm so glad we have that to look at and add to for the rest of our lives. It's been 4 1/2 years now and I still get excited when I hear Seiuli's voice on the other end of the phone. I love kissing his "kissy lips." I love watching him with the kids. He's an awesome dad. He's my best friend & I can't imagine my life without him. He's made my life the way I always pictured it. He's awesome!!

**And in case you're wondering, "our song" is: "I Knew I Loved You Before I Met You" by Savage Garden. Very appropriate, don'tcha th
ink?

I guess I never asked what your love story was. That is the sweetest thing! You were obviously meant to meet up and take care of each other. Thanks for sharing! Awesome story!

You forgot to mention the little freak out you did for like a week after you moved up here... Y'all are meant to be.

PS in answer to your "Which Brady are you?" Mine came back Marcia. I'm serious...."I AM Juliet!!!"

Mine seriously came back as Jan, even though I think a couple of my answers were Bobby and Marcia...
I was gonna mention the freak out but then I'd have to tell how Sei took back the ring to the store and stuff. Too long. Plus, I was allowed a little freak out considering the circumstances. :)

And what about the edited family picture I conjured up for you? You know, the "Your face here" picture. That's what sealed the deal IMHO.

True true... In my original draft of my post I DID mention that picture!! But, it was too long (like the one I actually posted isn't long!!) so I edited it out. I'm sorry JC. Yes- it IS because of that picture that I was able to weed out a ton of guys. They saw 3 kids and ran!!
