Treadmill and whatever else I end up writing about...

Well- I am happy to report that Seiuli and I purchased a treadmill. It's not new. It's actually 2 years old. We found it in the classifieds on www.ksl.com. It's a Nordictrack C1900 and I love it!! It has built in programs or you can put in your own. It has fans on the "dashboard." It clocks distance, time and calories burned. Did I mention I love it?? Ever since I had Liv my workout schedule has been screwed. Before she was born I worked out M W and F at the church. A group of women meet there at 8:30am and we do different things depending on the day. For about a year I led kickboxing on Fridays. I think I retired from that when I was 6 month preggo. We do step aerobics and an exercise ball class. It's nice that it's available and it's free. I worked out until the day I went into labor. I actually called my friend that morning to let her know I had some errands my husband and I needed to get done that morning, so I wouldn't be there to exercise. 15 minutes later my water broke and I had to call her back so she could babysit my other kids! So much for errands... Anyway- I'm way off the subject. Now that I have Liv I still go to the church to workout, but my workouts haven't been as productive as I'd like them to be because sometimes I'm holding Liv in the middle of the workout. I was getting very frustrated because now more than ever I need to exercise. Not just to lose the roll of fat hangin' over my jeans, but also so I feel better. I don't like feeling like a blob and if I don't exercise I stay in my pjs until noon (or later.) So, I told Sei that if we spent the money for a treadmill I promise I would use it. Luckily we found a good deal and so far I have kept my word. Granted, we've only had it since Saturday...
I walked/ran for 40 minutes on Monday. It felt SO good!!! Tuesday I didn't get as much free time all at once, so I ran for 20 minutes in the morning and ran/walked 20 minutes that nite. Today I only got to run for 25 minutes. It's funny because I felt like a speed demon. TodayI was running so fast- or at least I thought I was. I was actually only running 10-12 miles per hour. I kept switching the speed depending on how I felt. I remember when I really could run fast. It was back in '88. I ran a 6 1/2 minute mile. I also ran anchor on my 1600 meter relay team. And I set the school record at my jr. high for the 400 meter for just over a minute. Man, those were the days. 7th grade- I was ugly, but I was fast! :) That was before I got the disease. "White girls disease" is what I call it. It was around the same time a black guy told me, "You got alotta booty for a white girl." I didn't know if that was a compliment or what?! Maybe the booty was slowing me down?? I don't know. All I do know is I've still got that booty. I could feel it jiggling as I ran on my treadmill today. Eventually I could feel it dragging. Maybe I could invent a "booty bra"...

You never fail to make me laugh out loud!!!! Yes, a booty bra, most women would buy it! But I think they call them girdles... big underwear that tightens EVERYTHING, belly and all!

Oh and you are soooo good to be working out like you do, with a small baby AND the treadmill! I am a slacker. Gives me an idea to do the baby/mom workout videos at Liam's cranky time at 6pm though...
