Why I love my husband...

Today is Sei's last day at the Sheriff's office. He turned in his 2 week notice because he's had a few different opportunities come his way and they will be better for the family. He is starting his own youth substance abuse residential treatment center (NorthStar Youth Academy). He should be licensed and have boys in there by June. He is also starting a new job as a superintendent of a contracting company. His friend owns the company and needs someone to manage a ton of new homes he has going up. He called Sei and asked him if he'd be interested. Sei knows nothing about this kind of work, but obviously his friend knows he can trust Seiuli and that Sei will work hard. He's right.
I feel bad because I know Sei will miss his job as a deputy and SWAT member. He enjoys SWAT as much as I detest it. It's scary to know that your husband is going into a home where a man sleeps with a loaded gun under his pillow just in case he needs to shoot at a SWAT team. I taught a lesson at church about the Armor of God. I used Sei's SWAT bullet proof vest for part of my lesson. It wasn't until I was preparing my lesson that I realized how much his job scared me. I asked Sei "What if they shoot you in the head?" and he said a quote from Dumb and Dumber, "That is a chance we're willing to take." Not funny Seiuli. Not to mention his pager pretty much ruined every date nite we ever planned. But I am still sad for him. I don't want him to be sad. He enjoys his job. Not every guy can come home with the cool stories he does after a day of work. "Today we had to tase a guy..." "Today I had to do CPR on a guy that hung himself..." "You would not believe what this one guy had pierced..." Ok- none of those things sound cool. There ARE cool stories, I just can't think of them right now. The SWAT stories are cool- if your husband isn't in the middle of it all. :( The pictures of people's tattoos he brought home were funny. This one guy had Gordon B. Hinckley on his inner thigh. What's that about?? Anyway- this post is going all over the place. I am glad he's leaving the jail because he'll be able to come to church with me every Sunday. He won't have to work 7 nite shifts every month. He won't be around crap all day. (Hopefully his sense of humor will change now that he won't be at the jail.) He won't have to go to work at 5am. He will be able to make it to most, if not all, soccer games, etc...
I am so thankful for my husband's dedication to our family. He was asked for years to go out on the road rather than work at the jail, but he turned it down everytime. 1) Because he knew how nervous that made me. Him driving around in rural areas, pulling over losers that shoot cops for no reason. 2) His schedule in the jail worked better for visitation with his daughters and for getting my kids to Texas for visitation. He wanted to be on the road so badly, but gave it up for us. He excelled at his job in the jail and is leaving in great standing. People are really gonna miss him.
I could go on and on about him, but Liv is screaming and Taj just found scissors. I love my husband. I am so proud of him and I will brag more about him on another day. Love you Babe!!

Yay for new opportunities. If they don't work out how he wants, well he always has a back up job since he left on good terms. I am happy for the family!

That's great. I bet Sei will love working with hopped up kids as much as he liked his old job, or pretty close . I would be worried all the time if my husband was on SWAT. Fixing cars is pretty dangerous too you know. A couple of trips to the ER for metal in trent's eye. Okay it's not even close, you win.

ps for your factoid blog you could call it Tori TidBits or Tantilizing Tori-isms
Tasty Tori Truths-I am pretty good at these.. yaa yaa ya (that's me making fun of myself in case you didn't get it)
