I've had a hard time writing anything meaningful enough to follow my last post. But, I decided I have to go on with MY life and even my silly posts. :) I have kept the boys who lost their mom in my prayers. I've kept their mother in my thoughts. When the kids have done something I usually would have been mad at them for, I try to think "Is the way I just reacted to this the way I want my kids to remember me??" And I've shown marked improvement. Wow- THINKING BEFORE I ACT. What a concept!! So, when Isabel tracked dirt from the backdoor, thru the kitchen, across the living room and out the front door this is how it went:

"Isabel!!" (ok- don't yell. It will sweep right up.)
"Oh, sorry Mom. I didn't know they were dirty."
"Take your shoes off before you come back it, ok?"
"Ok. Bye Mom!!"

"Bye Izzy!"

Then I got out my mini vac and sucked all the dirt up. It took less than 2 minutes. It SO was NOT a big deal. Why I would have made it into one before Monday nite is beyond me

Those things really give a lot of good perspective, don't they?

It's wonderful to have gained a new outlook from a terrible tragedy. But sometimes we just make a big deal of things, and while it IS dumb, it happens and we can't beat ourselves up. We just have to keep trying to do better. I am glad you are succeeding. Miss you.
