Something wicked this way comes

Stepmother: Silence! Time for vicious practical jokes, perhaps we can put it to better use. Now let me see... There's a large carpet in the main hall- Clean it! And the windows upstairs and down- Wash them! Oh yes, and the tapestries and the draperies...
Cinderella: But I just did...
Stepmother: Do them again! And don't forget the garden. Then scrub the terrace, sweep the halls and the stairs, clean the chimney. And of course there's the mending and the sewing and the laundry... Oh yes and one more thing, see that Lucifer gets his bath.

Ahh, yes. The Wicked Step-mother is back in business! My step-daughters, Kelsea and Karlea arrived on Sunday. YAY! Everyone is so excited to have them here. Driving back from the airport Sei and I couldn't help but laugh. Our 9 seater Yukon was completely full of our children. Holy crap.

Kelsea and Karlea are 8 year old twins from Sei's 1st marriage. So, they are only 5 months older than Isabel. That makes it interesting. Sometimes Isabel and Karlea pair off. Sometimes it's Kelsea and Isabel and then other times the twins pair off. Alec loves when K and K come. He cries everytime they leave. He has so much fun with them. It's sweet. And get this- Isabel has a bunk bed with a full size on the bottom and a twin on the top. Everynite we've gone in to check on them all 3 of the punks are squished into Isabel's top twin bunk!
What a bunch of NERDS!!!

So far nothing major has happened. Let's see... Kelsea had an award winning splinter yesterday. It was literally 3/4 of an inch long. We saved it in a ziploc. When I told her she wins first place for the "biggest splinter ever" Isabel chimes in "Well, I had the smallest!" Then Karlea had to remind me that she also had one in her toe once. Oh... the competitiveness is enough to drive a semi-sane woman totally whack-o!!

Kelsea and Karlea have been demostrating their dance moves. They've shown us their jazz and their tap dance. Their legs "flail about as if independent from their bodies!!" (Chandler Bing on Friends referring to Michael Flatley.) Kelsea seems a little more graceful, but Karlea's facial expressions give her dancing lots of personality. She also kicks Kelsea's butt in Dance, Dance Revolution. (But no worries- my records are safe.;) I'm so happy to see them go off and be their own person.

Yesterday we had lunch at Carl's Jr. My sister-in-law & nephew were in town for a few hours, so they came with us. And today Sei is putting together our new trampoline. It's GI.NOR.MOUS. We bought a big square one from $ams Club that came with an enclosure. It's way sturdy, so that's good. The girls (we let Izzy play hookie today) have been outside getting in his way helping him all morning. Later we are going to the park across the street from the kid's school so they can all play and I can run on the track. We may go swim at the rec. center later. This weekend we have birthday parties galore. Isabel's Saturday morning and Tristan's in that afternoon. Yes- I realize it. I am crazy. You have to be crazy to survive when you're so out-numbered.

I love Sam's Club/Costco. Someday we'll have a spot to put a big trampoline like that.

The bunkbed image was cute. You have a great sense of humor about the stepmother thing. :)

I am sure you are a far better stepmother than poor cinderella had to suffer with. It sounds like you all have fun together.

Gotta love the competitiveness. Not! If only we could find a postive way to channel it!

You are so good Tori. How cute that all the kids get along.
Over here I am known as the "step-monster", yeah, for reals.
