I'm scarred for life...

**Some of the following images may be disturbing. Well, ok, just one image and it's really little...

Something is seriously wrong with my husband and sons. There's this new show on MTV called Scarred. The entire show is clips of people getting mangled skateboarding or whatever. OH.MY.GOSH. These videos are just... wrong. I'm not a wimpy person, but the videos make me wanna puke. I can't watch them. I'm still warped from a video I saw on Maury like 10 years ago when a girl jumped over a hurdle and broke her leg. It basically was bending backwards from the knee- kicking herself in the face. Eeeew. I just got goosebumps. Anyway, Last nite I watched one clip on Scarred, thru my fingers, and I was dy-ing. This kid jumped down 39 steps on his skateboard and tried to grind the wall. He started to fall so he caught himself with his arm. His arm broke. And when I say broke, I mean it "flailed about as if independent from his body!" (Chandler Bing on Friends describing Michael Flatley: Lord of the Dance.) It looked like his fore arm was a bag his upper arm was carrying. And the kid just said, "Dude, my arm is broke. Look, I broke it." AAAAggghhhh!!!

So to this kid and other dumb kids, I dedicate this song to you. If you went to girls camp you may know it and sing along:

Does your arm hang low? Does is wobble to and fro?
Can you tie it in a knot? Can you tie it in a bow?
Can you throw it over your shoulder like a continental soldier?
Does you arm. hang. low????
(Body part may be replaced with any other mangled body part...)
**PS. Appropriately enough Isabel picked Sk8er Boi for the Song of the Day. :)

Gross! I could never watch stuff like that. I'll never forget watching one of my 5th grade schoolmates break his arm while playing baseball. I was playing first base and he slid into first which is a little bit funny because he wasn't even suppose to slide. I'll never forget hearing it snap! Ick!

Disturbing. What is wrong with boys? Why would any of that be entertaining? Oh well, we shall never know, just like they will never understand why we have to have so many shoes and purses.

"...tried to grind the wall". You are so cool.

Eeew! I can't handle surgery shows or any major injuries. America's Funniest Home Videos is painful enough!

Just reading your post was painful! Yuck! Though, unlike Robin, I can watch the surgery shows... at least those folks have pain killers already.

Ewww! I would want to watch that either!

I had an ex boyfriend that loved watching stuff like that. Too creepy for me!

Sooo gross. There are some really stupid people out there.

I love that you compared the broken arm to Chandler Bing talking about Michael Flately! I love Friends!

Saw it in real life when one of Kimi's gymnastics friends fell of the beam. Not too interested in the rerun.

It must be a guy thing, because Al likes watching gory stuff, too. Oh, and the boys LOVE to watch it with him.

EW! I'm sure that I could never watch that show. I think I really would puke. Kids are dumb. Getting caught being dumb on camera is a little frightening! :O

Matt was watching some martial arts fighting show and two ladies were fighting.... one slammed the other down and her foot/ankle went backwards. People were barfing all around the ring. Totally disgusting. I don't know what the draw is to that kind of thing.
Matt's grandmother broke her ankle like that a few years ago and while we were in the er I had to get a blanket to cover it as it dangled because I just couldn't look at it... you know, bones just shouldn't hang outside of your skin, it's just not right.

I LOVE THAT SHOW!!!! I'm not kidding! We start out w/Ryan & me watching it & about 1/2 way through, Ryan has had enough & is watching through his fingers like you were. Micah won't come anywhere close...can't even be where he can hear it. I've always been weird like that ~ I love to watch surgeries too & look at like crime scene photos & stuff. Promise you'll still love me after reading this! :)

Replace the word 'arm' with 'balls' in that song, and you have the way we sang it in high school. We were a salty bunch. Yarrrr!

I stopped watching C.S.I years ago because they just wouldn't quit with the gratuitously graphic scenes of autopsy and death. I hear 'House' is much the same way.
