My Weekend (Because I know you care)

Whaas hoppenin' hot
stuff????
(Long Duck Dong, Sixteen
Candles)

Saturday I had the opportunity to meet with a couple of fellow bloggers. I knew Gina already from church, but meeting Suzanne (who loves roses!!) was a 1st. We met at my house since our plans for the park were ruined by yucky weather. Taj was in heaven playing with Suzanne's "D" & "J". And Liam was just happy to be there. ;)
It was nice and not at all awkward. (Was it Gina or Suzanne??) It's interesting to meet with people you already know so much about. Background info wasn't needed on every story etc... We all brought a dessert to share and although I probably gained 5 pounds in one sitting, it was worth it! Suzanne also brought Gina and I a rose made out of ribbon. They even smelt like roses. I thought it was a lot of fun and hope to do it again!!

Gina, Suzanne, Tori:)

And... that was about all that happened this weekend.

This past week one of the boys from my husband's youth residential treatment facility went home. I'll call him "J." J is the neatest guy. Sei has had a lot of boys in his home, but this kid is different. It was obvious from the start he was a good kid that just made dumb mistakes. He truly desired to do better. I worry about him now. I know he'll do his best to do what's right, but he was just mixed in with the wrong people before and they scare me. I guess one of them stopped by his house shortly after he got home. How did that guy know he was coming home?? Anyway- that scared me. I cried when Sei told me. I told J's mom to send him back here!! I want him safe. I want his family safe. I know what it's like to make really stupid mistakes and then they end up affecting everyone. I remember my little sister being threatened by my (very bad) ex-boyfriend's new girl friend. What?? I went to her school to kick some butt if necessary. The girl saw me there and never messed with Nicole again. Because I'm tough like that. ;) Anyway- I wish J and his family the best. I miss him. He was funny. He's the one that told me to "draw a road." LOL :) He also didn't laugh at my wakeboarding attempt- even though he's an awesome wakeboarder. After reading this I realize I couldn't be a therapist. I would get too attached- or annoyed, depending on the kid. :) Anyway... I pray he's doing well.

A lot of you asked after my post on Friday about my wilderness adventures. I'll have to write about it sometime. I'm deciding what I want to tell & what I don't. How can I write about being sent away to a wilderness survival camp without making me sound like a total butthead??? Hmm...

You won't sound like a butt head Tori, how did I write about my ppps and not have people think I'm a total psycho? (because I'm not! Although most readers of that editorial don't even know me. There were people who were afraid to leave their kids with me after that happened)

You're post is cracking me up. You would never sound like a "butthead".

I'm glad you had a nice weekend with your blogger friends!

I don't think I would be a good therapist either for the same reasons.

Dana and I were suppose to get together this past Saturday to meet- she bailed. She is afraid of my awesomeness! And she really had to get yard work done before these storms rolled in! Sounds like you had a good weekend!

I had so much fun and no, it wasn't awkward! (Well, except when "J" walked right into your house without knocking! LOL!) You are so fun! I'm so glad I got to meet you! :)

how fun! It would be kind of weird to meet on line friends in real life.

I am excited to hear about your wilderness camp experience....we were all young and "buttheadish" so share away :)

How fun that you got to meet Suzanne!! She seems so sweet.

We all made mistakes when we were younger. It's not so much what we did, but what we have become despite those bad choices we made back then.

I'm so sorry utmommy!! We were talking about doing a Utah "Bloggers-fest" sometime- like at a church or something.
I think you DO live near me for sure, so we should totally meet sometime! :) I'm so lame...

"How can I write about being sent away to a wilderness survival camp without making me sound like a total butthead???"

It goes like this, "I was an average teenager who made decisions that my parents thought would best be handled by professionals in the wilderness. They were right. Look how awesome and cool I am now!"

Yea, no one will think you are a butthead, You're too cool for that!

Yours truly,
a teen therapist;)

Background info wasn't needed on every story etc. I.LOVE.That.
That's like the best thing ever. What a fun time you had, desserts, good company, awww, super.

ABout not sounding like a butthead, just start with: "When I was a teen..." Hey, for some of us those are not shinning/proud years at all :P

the picture of the butthead made me die with laughter for some reason. You look gorgeous in that picture of you three ladies, by the way!

Okay ~ I know all the juicy (not) details...went through the "pre-show" w/you & I'm still here. The bloggers on here don't seem to be judgemental. They know the person you turned out to be. Just do me a favor - if you use my name, make me look cool. ;)

Agreed you look gorgeous in the photos I took... NOT FAIR! I need some color... a tan to be exact!

I had a great time! I love your personality and how easy going you are... like when a small boy (that isn't yours) dumps gold fish all over your couch! Thanks for being such a good friend! You are loved!

Hi Tori,
I'm Gina's friend and I linked to you from her blog. I'm a new blogger and amazingly I am interested in your life. You first caught my attention with your 24 blog. I'm a Big fan of the show. That was clever...and I am very interested to know how you got the opportunity to kiss a New Kid on the Block?
