Up a tree and in a cave

Yesterday the 3 older kids were climbing the tree in our backyard. Alec asked if he and Isabel could get on the roof. I, of course, said "no." 15 minutes later I kept hearing something hit the backdoor. I went to investigate and saw a sand pail tied to a rope swinging from the roof! What the...??? Tristan leans over the edge of the roof- wearing his bike helmet- and says "Hi Mom!" After I stopped laughing at the dork on the roof I told him he needed to get down. 20 minutes pass.... Tristan is still on the roof. He had Alec sending crackers up in a bucket to him! I asked him why he was still up there and he said he couldn't figure out a way down the tree he had crawled up. He was scared. I was bugged. It literally took another 20 minutes to get him down the tree and I had to climb up to help him feel safer. He ended up using an old gate as a ladder. What a nerd!!! He also didn't want me to take pictures because he said, "NO!! You'll put it on your blog!!" What?? I would never embarrass my child like that... I tricked him into smiling for this one. Bwwahahaha!!! Too bad he had taken off the helmet...
This is like the easiest club house ever! Take a card table, throw a blanket over it and toss in a couple of pillows. Taj called it his "cave" and drew "maps" all morning that led him to animals.

This is Livie's reaction to "Signing Time" every single time. Please forgive the mess. It doesn't always look like that. Just on days that end in "y."

That's such a fun idea to use a card table for the club house. My kids try putting blankets over other things and the blankets always fall down.

That is such a cute video of Livie! "J" gets so excited for Signing Time too and runs to tell me every time he even hears the commercial for it! :)

Luke has a card table set that his size in his room- every freaking day he makes it into a fort! At least it's not in the middle of my living room!

I can remember getting on the roof of our Fairfax house when I was Tristan's age and then being scared to jump down. I finally just did it, but it probably took me an hour to get up the nerve! I like the clubhouse...I will have to steal that idea.

My cousins and I used to climb up on the roof all the time and see who could spit all the way to the neighbors roof. We're such a refined bunch.

My toddlers have made impromptu tunnels out of sleeping bags to wiggle through like some sort of inchworm obstacle course!

What is it with our kids that they think we have nothing better to blog about than them. Sheesh! To think that we would take a picture of them solely for the purpose of putting it on our blogs......they must think our lives revolve around them!

Liv was never much of a chubby baby, but she looks so grown up and toddlerish and she doesn't even have chubby baby cheeks anymore! Miss you.
