While the cat's away the mice will...

have the yard leveled and ready to sod, buy a new shed, paint the bedroom, hang closet doors and buy a bedroom suite. At least that's what my mouse did while I was gone... He even remembered to hold Wormy a couple of times!

Ignore the non-existant window treatments and piles of crap in the corner... As long as I can remember Sei and I have had the ghetto bedroom. (Ok, we've been married almost 6 years, so for 6 years we've had the ghetto bedroom.) And when I say ghetto I mean, $40 dresser from garage sale, ugly piece of crap entertainment center given to us by the neighbors, and a stereo shelf as a side table and no headboard for our bed. Welp, we had kinda started looking, but we are both so cheap thrifty!! We knew if we spent the money on a set we wanted "the real thing." Nothing Sei had to put together out of a box. Well, while I was gone he found this set on clearance at RC Wi11ey. There were some scratches, but he filled them in and you can't even tell! Picking the paint on the walls was interesting because he called me while I was gone and said, "What color do you wanna paint the walls?" Uhh... I told him I liked the rust color and egg shell white colors on the shower curtain. But I didn't know how it would look on the wall. It actually looks GREAT and isn't as orange as it looks in the pics. Now I have to figure out what to put on the windows. Any suggestions???

I will write about my trip to Texas complete with pics and about the horrible trip home- no pics. I am so thankful to all the passengers on flight 1925 for not throwing me and my small children out the door while at 11,000 feet. Believe me- I wanted to jump.

Aw, that's just about the sweetest thing I've heard all day!
What a guy you have!
Looks great. You could do those bamboo shades and then do a great viney type thing over a pretty metal pole? I like that look and it would go with your new furniture....

What a sweetheart! Way to go Sei!!
I also love the colors, they say "fun" to me.
I'm just glad I don't to hear about you and the kids on the news....on the other hand I could say "hey! I know her!!".
But then again, I am glad they didn't kick you off the plane.

I took the kids for one whole week to homeschool family camp and I came home to find that my wonderful Papi managed to keep our dog alive. It was such a nice surprise. Anything like painting, buying stuff, cleaning......that's a big NEGATIVE.

Welcome back and congratulations on the very special Tori edition of "Pimp My Bedroom!"

I love paint and furniture! It is so chic :) I must say, I couldn't have let someone else do it though...i am such a control freak, I would have had to do it myself! haha...but you have an awesome husband!!

For the window, I personally would get a roman shade...it would match the rest of the feel in the room.

Great, know I am going to have to hide this post from Terry. I barely clean up right before she comes home from trips. Next thing you know she will want me to repaint rooms and redecorate for her!

Yayy! I love it when I come home and see productivity. My hubby did some really fun stuff to our home while I was away in NC too!

I absolutely love the bedroom furniture. You both have fanatstic taste. Did hubs pic out the paint color, I like it. My husband is so much better at picking paint colors than I am.

Very impressive I must say! He did a great job on the furniture and the painting.

Sometimes it pays to go away for a bit.

Sei is so awesome! That is the kind of love Trent gives, work. Now if I could only get a bedroom set! It looks great in there!

Looks great, Tori!

Tori,
Let's go shopping for bedding and window treatments to match. You need some pillows that "pop" with the painting and bedroom set. Sei is the da man. Al would clean, but paint- NOOOO Way!

Give me a ring, before I get a job.

Not only did I mow the yard...I used the weed whacker too. Oh yeah...I wasn't messing around.

What a great surprise to find when you got back! He did a great job. You could do curtains that are the same color rust, black or even cream I think would look good. What a great hubby you have! :)

man, what a perfect guy! most hubby's have a tendency to trash the place while you're out, not make serious improvements. ;-D kudos to him... and you for marrying him!

bamboo blinds with a dark valance.

i think i beat you for having the trashiest bedroom set. hand me down dresser, TV on a children's table... and not only do we not have a head board, we don't even have a frame or a foundation mattress! (it wouldn't fit down the stairs) boo hoo. maybe i just need to go on vacation and my little mouse with surprise me too!
