A Very Special Birthday and More CO

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY MOM!! (She doesn't read my blog, but I thought I'll throw this out there anyway... ;) The thing I admire the most about my mom is how she is as a Grandma. Not that she wasn't a great mom, but she kicks any other grandma's butt. (I should get her a bumper sticker that says that...) My children absolutely adore her. She is just so fun!! The kind of grandma I wanna be. She doesn't mind getting down on the floor and acting(?) crazy. She's patient. She didn't beat Liv when Livie pushed the stool over in the kitchen and broke the tile on the floor right in the middle of trying to sell their house... And speaking of selling their house- her main goal was to find a house with enough room for EVERYONE (kids and grandkids) to come stay at the same time. How wonderful is that??? She just rocks! Happy 53rd 29th Mom! I love you.
And since my mother gave birth to me in Colorado I'll finish up my Colorado story...
Leaving For Colorado - Me & Millie
I have to admit I'm kinda put off from posting anything more about my trip to Colorado. Not because of any comments I've received on my blog. But I have read so many comments on others blogs saying "Well, I wasn't invited so... hmmph!" or something along those lines. I know some people were kidding, but others I really felt weren't. Please don't feel that way. These women are women I have been communicating with & building a relationship with for close to a year. Whether by reading their blogs, emailing, instant messaging, talking on the phone, etc... If they weren't people I really considered my friends I wouldn't have traveled out of state to finally meet them. The Blogosphere is huge and I guess somewhere, someone will always get their feelings hurt. There's really no need for that. There's enough love to go around. Please don't make me or my friends feel bad because you weren't there, this time. Annie invited me, so I was there. There have been other blogger get-togethers that I haven't been invited to or whatever, and you know what? I'm cool with that. I really am. And now that I've met some bloggers in real life I will probably hang out with them now and again. Friends do that and I shouldn't feel obligated to invite everyone in Blogtopia. Just like no one else should feel obligated to invite me. I don't expect to be invited to every bbq in my neighborhood... Whew. There, I said it. Now, please don't hate me.

Saturday after breakfast at the hotel we headed to Annie's house for a BBQ and games. Annie was so gracious to have us take over her house (and computer) for a while. Thanks again Annie!! I also got to meet Annie's parents, S.A.M., her kiddos, her brother and her SIL, Rugs Bug. <--She was awesome and made the best onion rings and french fries. Yummy!! Then we toured Fruita and visited a souvenir shop so we could grab a couple of things for the kids. Suzanne, Millie and I had to head home late that afternoon, but the other girlies got the grand tour and 2 more wild nites!! Woo hoo! Looks like they had a ball and I'm sad I couldn't stay longer. :(
It was such a great experience to be able to meet these women who I truly consider my friends. We already had this bond months and months in the making and now I can prove they really exist!! haha Thanks girls!

Now we all know where your beauty came from!

I really am so excited for all of you that you were able to meet IRL and it looks like you had a fantabulistic time.

I taught my Norman never to whine about missing parties. It's rude. My Norman never had friends and he turned out fine.

SoDak- I concur with your opinion. Hmmph.

Dana- Thanks Dana! Next time party is in the sticks...

NBMomma- Um... you sound like a great mom?

What? People's feelings are hurt? How silly! I wasn't invited but I’m perfectly ok with that. I wouldn’t want to go unless the Mike the Headless Chicken Festival was going on at the same time. I’m GLAD you guys had fun! I didn’t invite you the last time cjane, ~j, and I got together! Seriously.

And why is a blog get together so cool? I don't get it. I have real friends.

I'm sorry your mom is missing out on your amazing blog!

I ♥ the pictures...so much beauty!

I'm a bit worried about becoming a grandma in the next few years...I don't want your mom kicking my butt! ;)

I'll repeat what I've said to everybody...I'm so happy you got to go on your trip, and I've loved reading about it and seeing the pictures! I'm glad you said what you did! :D

Azucar- You didn't?? well, hmmph! ;)

Spoiled Brat- I have statcounter... Nice try.

Nancy Face- You're rad. I was trying to make you be my brother's kids grandma, but Lauren has her heart set on Ted... ;)

I don't know any of you, but I think it's great that you all had a chance to get together. What fun, and I can't understand why anyone would be upset!

I blog in the hopes that all of my family will enjoy pictures, memories, etc., but some just can't figure out the computer!!!

Sounds like you have an amazing mom and your kids are very lucky. Being a grandma is GREAT!

Happy Birthday Mrs. Tori:) Moma!

You do know I was just messing with all of you, right?

Tori :) said...

Yvonne- Thank you!! And yes- my mom is amazing.

Sister- I have no idea why it looks like that. My computer did something weird to it. Sorry!

Toni- Of course I knew YOU were kidding. You being serious would be like ME being serious... ;)

You look so much like your mom! If I'm able to go on another out-of-state blog trip again, it would be cool if I could get away for at least 2 nights! Then we could party longer! :D

my mom doesn't read my blog either :)
but oh well, it's the thought that counts!
if you're ever in arizona, you need to stop and play with me, lauren, and nancy!
we have grand old times.

That is funny if people really cared if they were "not invited." I mean it's fun and all, but you (we, they) don't have to invite everybody to everything!
Just tell them the truth Tori, you are just way more popular and invited to the cool girl par-tays! :)

Glad you had a blast and you are home safe!
And a big shout out to your mom on her birthday!

I agree with Sodak!

I am really happy that you guys had such a great time. Sorry if I have been a little whiney. I just really wanted to go. I have never had hurt feelings though like I wasn't welcome or invited or whatever. Silly, silly bloggers!

I still wish I had come. I knew I was missing out, because blogfest was so great. You are so friendly and outgoing Tori. It's no wonder that everybody loves you.

Happy Birthday to your mom!
Glad you had a good time Tori and I agree 100% with you. I'm amazed at how far this blog world stretches and then when I think I've hit the far edge somewhere in remote blogville I see a link to one of my friends or to ME. It amazes me how big and yet how small it is. I love it though.

I think its neat that you'all got together. It's fun to actually meet and hang with someone that you feel like you already know! What a fun girlie weekend for everybody.
Happy B-Day to your mom!

I am glad you said what you did about being true friends with these wonderful women. It was a trip well deserved after so long getting to know each one on a more personal level thru emails, phone conversations, etc. I was so thrilled for you when I saw that you and Suzanne were on your way! Yay for true connections! (I mean, I went all the way to California to meet one of my bloggy friends that I grew so close to via the same methods for over a year.)

Happy, happy birthday Mom!

Many, many more!!!

What awesome pics and a great post.

I came here freakin THREE TIMES yesterday and couldn't get my comment to post. What's that all about?

Confession Time.....I felt despondent in April when everyone got together in Washington. But then they told me that they talked about me (in a good way) and that made me feel a lot better. You're right. I talk with a lot of people on the blogs but that doesn't mean that I'd want to hang with them in person. I'm sure the feelings are mutual on that one. Especially now that I revealed my penchant for chili dogs.

I love your recap post. I am sorry it has taken me awhile to comment. I still haven't unpacked. Doh!

To those who are wondering why they didn't get invited...

Secret Agent Man ran back ground checks on all the attendees. If you have ever been a terrorist, nude in public, or have worn gauchos, you were off the list!

I'm so glad I was still able to come even after my stint as a National Geographic model...

Taj is making a face. HA! So typical.
Maybe it's because I'm too cool, but really, it surprises me when people get hurt about stuff like that. Can’t we all just be happy for others having fun? I know I am.
It’s kinda like being jealous at Bill Gates and all his serious dough. It makes me happy that he’s so rich because that means that others are being employed and also it means that anyone can do what he did. The American dream and all that.
…eeer…

So yeah, anyway, Good recap!
Happy Birthady Tori’s mom. Your daughter is Teh Hawt.
