It seemed like a good idea at the time...

Man, I was thinking "Answering questions from fellow bloggers- what an easy post!" Ack! Could I be more wrong?? (Say that like Chandler Bing.) I will do my best to answer your questions and not bore you in the process... And I'm sorry this is so long, but I have other posts already planned for the next few days so I figured I should get this over with! :)

No Cool Story asked: What's the goofiest thing you've ever done? The best thing you've ever done? The dumbest thing you've ever done? Your favoritest movie- ever? I should have my sister answer these...
The goofiest thing?? Hmmm... there have been so many. But I'm gonna go with going thru drive thrus with my little sister, Nicole, and talking in stupid accents that the person taking the order could not understand. Or sometimes we'd act like we were fighting. I think we scared some workers at Arby's. What's worse is that I had like 2 kids at the time!!
Best thing I've ever done- not to be generic, but marrying Sei was the bestest thing EVER!! And eloping made it even more awesomer. LASIK was also awesome. Do you know how great it is to be able to see the clock in the middle of the nite? I used to wake Sei up and say, "It's 2:32!!"
The dumbest- there are so many to choose from. The most permanant dumbest is my ugly tattoo. It's just a little daisy on my ankle, but it's ugly. I wish I could get it fixed or removed.
Movie- I have SOOOOO many movies I love. I've seen "Clear and Present Danger" the most so I'll say that, because I can still sit and watch it (and quote it) when it comes on TV. But my favoritest right now is "Transformers." I saw it again yesterday. It's more than meets the eye. haha

UtMommy asked: What is your most embarrassing moment? Who's hotter, Jacob or Edward? And why? And what is your favorite ice cream? Do you wear contacts? How many pairs of shoes do you have? What is your worst fear?
I thought and thought about the embarrassing question one and that's a hard question because I couldn't think of something SOOOO embarrassing that I've never recovered. Things that seemed horribly embarrassing in jr. high are totally stupid when I think about it. I guess maybe meeting the male nurse at the jail who Sei called in the middle of the nite to ask him about my urinary tract infection I had when I was pregnant with Taj. Something about discussing my stinging pee with someone and then meeting them... Weird.
Jacob or Edward?? For those who don't know what she's talking about- these are characters from Twilight and New Moon. I am a Jacob fan all the way. He's brown. He's hot blooded & he can kiss me without wanting to kill me. He can also phase the fastest- very talented. Yummy!

Ice cream- I'm not a huge ice cream fan, but when I get ice cream I usually go for chocolate chip cookie dough or just plain chocolate chip. Again- Yummy!
No- I don't wear contacts anymore, but I did get glasses in 4th grade and contacts when I was 12. But now my vision is 20/15 thanks to LASIK.
I've never counted my shoes, but I'd say well over 30 pair- but most of them are flip flops. I have so many shoes, but like you- prefer to be barefoot!!
My worst fear I discussed in this post, but besides losing a child or Seiuli, it would be ME dying and leaving my kids behind, being attacked by a wild animal or a psycho.

Lisa asked: Have you ever milked a cow? And have you ever been to Thanksgiving Point?
No- I've never milked a cow. But I've milked a cat. Oh yeah- You can milk just about anything with nipples. Just kidding- that's from "Meet the Parents." No, Lisa, I've never milked a cow. But I've skinned a rattlesnake.
I have been to Thanksgiving Point, but I've only gone to Shade Clothing 1/2 Yearly Sales and to the farm area. The kids loved the petting zoo, so I would say "YES" take your family.

Jean Knee asked: Do you like to floss your teeth or is it a downer? What's it like to be asked so many questions?? (rhetorical)
Actually I rarely floss my teeth. But, I brush like 3-4 times a day. And everytime I go to the dentist he always comments about how "Wow- I can always tell the people who floss! Your teeth look great!" Bwahahaha! I have him fooled.
As for the questions... well, I guess I asked for it. Literally. haha

Swampbaby (my sister) asked: Are you a turtle?
Excuse my language but: YOU BET YOUR SWEET ASS I AM!! The whole turtle thing goes way back to my jr. high days. And I have to answer it that way.

Nancy Face asked: What is the most rebellious thing you've ever done?
Hmmm.... well, if you don't count all the stupid stuff I did as a teenager, I'd have to say run off and elope in Vegas. We pissed off so many people. It was awesome! And I sneak candy into movie theaters on a regular basis.

Elasticwaistbandlady asked: Have you ever smeared a boogEr (with an E not an A) on a page inside a library book? Do you shave your pits along with your legs? If you leave one of the other out do you feel like the job is incomplete?
I'm pretty sure I've never smeared a booger in a library book. I only do that in books I've purchased.
I have to shave my pits and legs or yes, it feels incomplete. Kinda like if one hand gets wet I have to get the other one wet too.

Suzanne asked: Where would your dream vacation be? What is your fave breakfast cereal? How did you get into running? What is your best 5k time? Will you move back to Texas someday?
Hawaii is definitely my dream vacation. I soooo want to surf in Hawaii.
My fave cereal is either Lucky Charms or Golden Grahams. I also like Cheerios with raisins thrown on top. Cream of Wheat would be my fave hot cereal. But I rarely eat cereal for breakfast. It's usually a midnite snack.
As for running, I'm still waiting to "get into" it. I run, but only because my butt expands if I don't. :) I wish I would get to that "I love to run!" point... My mp3 player makes a huge difference.

My fastest 5k as an adult is 28:56. In jr. high and before I probably averaged about 21 minutes. That was before I got "White Girls Disease."
Unfortunately I probably won't move bacl to Texas. Right now I wouldn't want to because I'd have to deal with the ex upclose and personal on a weekly basis and it would suck. I don't want him to have that much influence. And by the time the kids are older it wouldn't make sense because they would have been raised in Utah and will probably live up here. We'll see....

JennieBoo asked: Where did you meet "The Wonderful Hubby?" What did you do on your 1st date? Do you drink milk straight from the jug? What's your fave color? What kind of shampoo do you use?
I met Sei on Seriously. You can read about it here. And we went to The Pizza Factory and some overlook in the mountains on our 1st date. You can read about that here.
I'm not a milk drinker, so if I drink it at all it's out of a cereal bowl!
My fave color is orange- because no one picks orange. And I use Suave 2 in 1 shampoo/conditioner and sometimes Pantene 2 in 1 with anti-dandruff. I never, ever had a dry scalp until I moved to Utah. Ugh.

Jenica asked: Name 3 moments in your life that helped *define* you. Would you ever get *work* done? How has motherhood changed you? How has step-motherhood changed you as a mother?
Let me answer the easy one 1st. Hell ya I'd get work done!! Tummy tuck and b00b lift!! I wouldn't do anything else though.
Ok, 3 moments that helped define me... hmmm... 1) I think the moment I decided to file for divorce. I finally saw I was worth something and deserved someone who would love me. 2) The moment I said "I do" to Seiuli. I became the luckiest woman on earth at that moment. 3) Becoming a mom. How can that not define someone?
Motherhood has made me responsible for 1. I was 18 when I had Tristan. Holy crap- 18??? But I think I showed all those statistic writing people w'sup. I was a good mom from the get go. I'm less selfish. I was a brat my whole life and once I became a mom, nothing else mattered. I wanted to be the best mom I could be. Step-motherhood has helped me get out of my "I only like my kids" mode. Other people's kids were never appealing to me. But I love Kelsea and Karlea and I didn't give birth to them. It also made me learn to perserveer. K and K didn't take to me right away. It took like 3 1/2 loooooong years of rejection.

Wendy asked: What's your best tip as a mother of many?
When are you going to have another baby? (she's kidding)
What do you eat for breakfast?
Do you fix lunches for your kids or do they have hot lunch?
Favorite hot date?
My best tip would be to stop getting pregnant. :) And to not stress about having the perfect house or if your 3 year old's clothes match.
I will have another baby when Sei's vasectomy reverses itself.
I eat either cereal or a Balance Carbwell bar for breakfast- although it's usually closer to lunch time.
My kids usually eat the school lunch because we are poor enough and have so many kids that we qualify for reduced lunch. Sometimes Izzy takes her lunch though...
Fave hot date as in, where we go?? Or are you talking about my date with Christian Bale? I like ANY date I get to go on with Sei, but I really liked our Squaw Peak date.

Millie asked: What's been the hardest thing about blending 2 families? The easiest/best? The hardest has been making Kelsea and Karlea like me. I tried for years. I mean really tried and they weren't having any of that. So, that was really horrible. But it's a lot better now that they are 8 and not 3. Having 3 girls all age 3 or whatever was tough too. People would constantly stop us and make comments about the "cute twins" and totally ignore Isabel. I wanted to kick butt like all the time. And dealing with 2 exes is no picnic either. The easiest was how quickly Seiuli fell into his role as "Daddy." Isabel was calling him "Daddy" within a couple of months- with no prompting from me. The best is being married to a wonderful man who thinks I'm awesome at being a mom/stepmom even though I feel inadequate.

Lauren asked: How old were you when you had your 1st kiss? What flavor of ramen is better- chicken or beef? Have you ever had a bikini wax? If so, was it as painful as people say it is? I think I was 13 1/2 when I had my 1st kiss-kiss (french). It was 8th grade outside of the gym during a 9th grade basketball game. Joey Stubblefield... As for ramen noodles- Chicken is definitely better and no, I've never had a bikini wax. Or a bikini for that matter. That would be painful for those seeing me in it.

Kayelyn asked: What is the one thing you do for you? Like to relieve stress, keep sane, etc... Hmmm... keep having kids?? Oh wait, no. That causes stress. And hurts. I blog. I exercise. I try to go to T@rget without the kids. And I listen to music really, really loudly. Linkin Park and Metallica are the best.

Gina asked: Can you name only one (and only one) attribute of each of your children that defines them? What is your favorite type of book to read? Inspirational non-fiction, fantasy, murder-mystery, basic fiction, romance... or just a little of all? And how often do you read said books?
That's hard, but I'll give it a try.
Tristan- Protector
Alec- Thoughtful
Isabel - Spunky
Taj- Spaz
Livie- Fiesty

Kelsea- Sensitive

Karlea- Inquisitive

I enjoy lots of different types of books. They just have to be easy reading and catch me from the get-go. I don't get to read very often, but the books I've enjoyed in the past are: All 8 of The Work and The Glory, The Da Vinci Code, Angels & Demons, Twilight, New Moon, The Hiding Place... These are the books I've read in the last 10 years. I'm horrible. But in my defense I did read The Work and The Glory set 3 times and New Moon twice...

Annie of Anniethology asked: If you could trade lives with any celebrity, who would it be? Hmmm... that's a hard one. Celebrity as in Hollywood? Someone really, really rich, but nice. Maybe Jon Heder. He's LDS, makin' money and funny. Although I think it'd be cooler to actually be Napoleon Dynamite. He has sah-weet dance moves. :) Annie also asked which kid I would give away... It depends on the day. Sometimes I'd say it's a package deal. ;)

PJ asked: What do you want MOST for Christmas? I totally want my own Sector 9 longboard. Sei got one for Father's Day in 2003, so I ride his. But I want my own.
Sodak asked: Are you what you thought you would be when you grew up? If you could blink and nod your head like I dream of Jeannie....what would you wish for? Is the bathroom a revolving door, or do you get to lock it? What is your favorite book ever? Can you curl your tongue? If yes, how many of your children can? I am exactly what I thought I would be- a mom. But I'm not rich... I would wish for lots of money so I could travel to exotic places and watch Sei surf. I do get to lock the bathroom door, but I usually see little Livie fingers sticking in under it! My fave book ever would be New Moon or the 7th book of The Work and The Glory series. And yes- I can curl my tongue like a taco. Tajy doesn't seem to be able to and I don't know about Livie, but the other 5 can.

TxMommy asked: silver or gold? chocolate or fruity dessert? beach or mountains? if you had tripet girls what would you name them? Favortie pair of shoes? worst calling you've ever had? favorite chore? least fav? Hmmm... Silver/white gold all the way. That was the only thing I told Sei when he was looking for an engagement ring- white gold please. I like chocolate. I'm not a huge fan of cooked fruit- like apple pies. Yeah, call me weird. BEACH!!!! If Livie had been triplets they would have been: Liv, Kaia and Shei (Shay but spelt like Sei.). The dr. thought she was twins, so the 2 names I had picked were Liv and Shei. But I like Kaia too. I also like Maili. Oh, and Cali, but I thought it would be weird to have Kelsea, Karlea, Cali and Isabel... Favorite pair of shoes would be ANY flip flops. I love them!! I especially like my black ones with little skulls on them. My worst calling was den leader. Just wasn't my thing. I did it well, but didn't enjoy it. My fave chore would be... laundry. I mean, I don't mind throwing clothes in the washer or dryer. I don't like putting it away though. It sits on top of my dryer FOR.EVER. My least favorite would be mopping. So, I don't. :)

Annie of My Life as Annie asked: What's your favorite color? fragrance? holiday? My favorite color is orange. My favorite fragrance is... Secret deodorant. ;) I don't really wear any. And I love Christmas and Halloween. (I know, I weird combo!!)

Yvonne asked: how do you feel about the term "step-mother"? Don't you feel fairy tales, Disney, etc., have given them a bad wrap by always making them wicked??? Have you ever seen a wicked step-dad? We usually don't use the term "step" at all in our house. Sei is just "Dad" and when my step-daughters are here I'm "Tori." And my kids don't even refer to their step-mom as their step-mom. They'll say "His wife" or whatever... I am bugged with all the wicked step-mom stories. What is up with that??? I've discussed that with Sei also. I like to joke about it though. I think I saw a Lifetime movie called "Step-father" or something like that. He was a pervert, I think...

Inga asked: When you were a little girl, what did you want to be when you grew up? Being a mom is all I ever said I wanted to be!! I used to play with my dolls all the time. I even played church- like I had to take them out of sacrament meeting. That's not quite as fun IRL as it was when I played it...

Dorky Dad asked: Is that you and your real family in the photo or are they just a bunch of models? I don't think one family should have that many good looking people. There should at least be a couple of ugly ones. ;) We tried our hardest to have an ugly kid, but it just never happened.;) But what's funny is I was sooooo nervous when Sei and I were pregnant with Taj (our 1st together- the blonde in the front.) We had these 5 cute kids from our 1st marriages and I was so stressed that the one time we try to combine OUR dna together that the poor kid would get all the "ugly genes": Stubby legs, huge poly nose, bad hair, squinty eyes... But I think we did ok. So, we had another. :) We don't always look beautiful though, as you can see here.

And thank you David, who didn't ask a question, but who I know is laughing at me right now...

Joey Stubblefield is a really good name. And... Melrose place is a really good show.

Wow! I loved reading all that! How long did it take you to write it? Half a day? You are amazing! :D

Inga said...

Good job! When I saw how many ?'s there were yesterday I didn't think you would be able to get through it.
I agree, we step-mom's get the bad wrap and it took me a good five years to get in grove with the little guy and the ex-wife.

You wrote a whole page of stuff and all I could do was focus in on the fact that I spelled booger wrong. :(

I mean, I practically wrote the book on boogers, how could I make a mistake like that? I may have written the book on boogers, but I never put any on the pages.

utmommy said...

I'd totally get a boob job and a tummy tuck too! Maybe they'd give us a two-for-one deal!

Fun reading your answers. Sorry I didn't get my questions in. Things are crazy-busy at work ~ especially w/me having been gone last week & fixin' to be gone next week. AND w/the computer down at home. YUCK!

~j.- He was the 1st boy with armpit hair in my 6th grade class. Very manly.

Nancy- I started writing it after I'd gotten a few questions. Otherwise it would have been overwhelming!!

Inga- Yeah. I wasn't expecting so many questions. But it was fun! In a narcissitic way...

EWBL- Don't stress. I think I spelt booger wrong. I will correct it right now!!!

UtMommy- We should get it done at the same time and just hang out at a spa to recuperate!

s--max- I knew you were crazy busy. You probably know all the answers anyway!

My husband and I went to a Taco Cabana drive thru and he ordered in German. I was his translater.

Oh, and the b00b lift? Totally worth every dime!

All I ever wanted to be was a mom too. I also played Sacrament Meeting and had to take my dolls out but not until I ate a piece of broken bread. :)

No Cool Story said...

You have outdone yourself :) That was cool.
Sorry about the tatoo. I almost got one, but then I didn't, for which I'm so very glad.

I'm not a stepmother. I am a StepMontser.

Good Job! Go rest those weary fingers, that was a lot of typin'

That was a long one! I love all the questions and answers, and I'm relieved to know that you don't wipe your nose in library books!

You do have a really attractive family!

jenica said...

oh so much to comment on! you're so brave to answer all of them, or to even ask to be asked!

but i do have to say, that i was the same way when we had our first child... i was so worried she would end up with the ugly genes. luckily, all of our kids have turned out gorgeous too, i love mixing up the gene pool. and when people ask me, "just how many kids do you plan on having?" i tell them that we'll quit when they start getting ugly...

Kayelyn said...

Way too much to ask of one person when not in person.

Love the question from dorky Dad. You could never make an ugly baby. It's not possible. Just ask Sei- he'll agree with me.

Tori :) said...

Dana- LOVE the translator idea!!

Terry- Why did sacrament seem fun to us at that age??

NCS - How could YOU ever be a monster?? Maybe you have step-creatures, not children.

JennieBoo- I took a long time, but I was determined to finish! haha

PJ- Luckily I have my next couple of posts already saved in drafts, so I can take a break. :)

Wendy- Yes, my boogers are reserved for things I own- not borrow.

Jenica- I LOVE your answer to people asking the nosiest question! LOVE it!!

Kayelyn - I do bake a good bun, if I do say so myself.

I do bake a good bun.

I see my name!

Jon Heder is a boy. You wanna be a boy? "Not that there's anything wrong with that."

David said...

ROFLOL!!!!!!!! HAHAHAHA! I seem to remember there were things I wanted to comment on. Post...sooo...longggg...
Heder and his twin brother Heder had their room directly across the hall from me our Freshman year at BYU. They were making movies back then. I have one of them. I ain't selling it to Inside Edition either. But when someone does sell one of those movies I am totally watching to see myself!

I liked Work and the Glory once, but Terry is right...the guy has no concept of how girls talk...please tell me all y'all (I know you like that) stand around in the kitchen discussing gospel principles while cooking. Please say it ain't so...

Sorry for the hijack!

Tori :) said...

David- My sister and I would talk about how dorky the women were too. No one was unhappy that life sucked. Everyone loved having 18 people in one cabin and their babies all slept thru the nite. Hmmmm....

Dorky Dad said...

Well, at least you tried your best. And that's all that mattered. There are worse things in the world than being stuck in a house full of good-looking kids.

David said...

I remembered the other thing I was going to say! Eloping is totally cool. If we had to wait past our planned wedding day for Terry's sealing cancellation we were thinking or eloping once it came and not bothering people with changing the wedding fate around. But it came like 5 days before the wedding. So we went ahead as planned.
