2 minutes

2 minutes is all it takes for me, Alec, Taj and Liv to walk from the W@lmart exit to our car. 2 minutes is all it takes to ruin a nice trip to the store. And 2 minutes is all we needed to make this post possible. We has just finished a quick shopping trip and I was pleasantly surprised with our smoothly it had gone. As we were crossing the crosswalk I was pushing the cart with one hand and holding Taj's hand with my other. I realized I was practically dragging him because he was walking funny. I looked down and Taj's shorts were down around his ankles!! Everyone was seeing his awesome glow-in-the-dark Optimus Prime undies! Whaa??? I pulled his shorts up as I tried not to start crying I was laughing so hard. We continued on to the car when it happened again- his shorts fell down. I realized I hadn't tightened the drawstring, so I made sure to this time. Well, Taj thought it was funny- as did everyone in the parking lot- so he kept trying to make his shorts fall down.
We get to the car and start loading the bags into the back of the car. I love my Yukon, but it's not a Yukon XL, so there's not a ton of trunk space. I lowered the back seats and Tajy started "helping" put bags into the back. He was having trouble with one, so I told Alec to help. Alec just threw the bag on two 2 liters of Diet DP ontop of a the other bags. It was clearly going to fall out, so I told Taj "Hang onto the basket while I fix the groceries." In my head "hang onto the basket" means "Don't let the basket roll down the hill into the parked cars." In a 4 year old's head apparently it means, "Hang on the end of the basket and enjoy the ride!! Wheeeeee!!!!!!" I look up and Taj, Liv and the grocery basket are cruisin' down the parking lot towards a parked car and a woman. I run after the basket and as I grab it the momentum (plus slippery flip flops) made me slip onto one knee. I'm sure it was rather entertaining to any witnesses, but it hurt like hell.
I was so bugged. I got everyone in the car, limped over to the driver's side, got in and as I started the car all I could think is, "Freak my knee hurts!" and "I am soooo blogging this." My knee is still really sore, but as I type this I realize how freakin' funny it must have looked to everyone watching. I hope they enjoyed the free entertainment also known as MY LIFE.

I'm not going to lie, moments like this make me cringe with the thought of this happening to me...bahaha. So sorry, you had to go through that, but kind of grateful cause you made me smile :)

We did that dropping pants thing, in front of IKEA.

But they're European, so they don't mind.

What a cool mom you are - not only letting your 4-year-old cruise down the parking lot on your shopping cart - but actually encouraging it.

I am sorry for your hurt knee. I am sure Taj gave it a kiss later.

You are right, 2 minutes is all it takes for something to go wrong... most times less.

Glad you are okay.

I think you are brave for taking the kids to walmart!

The things you will do Ms Tori for a blog fodder! ;)

I'm guessing that since you posted this, it's ok to laugh about it with you.
:D HAHAHAHA!!
Sorry about the hurted knee, but you got to admit, that was pretty funny. Specially the "I am soooo blogging this."

So, Boys II Men's song, 'On Bended Knee' was really written for you?

I'm the chick who in a span of two weeks time, broke her own toes with a palette jack, impaled her foot with a toothpick, and bruised her back from falling off the bed. I'd say I'm your fiercest competitor for the Dork Of The Year prize.

You poor thing! I'm with Toni on this one; I think you are brave for just taking the kids to Wally World.

You should have checked with Wal-Mart to see if they have a camera in the parking lot--might be fun for all of us to see it posted here!!! I'm one of those evil people like jean knee--I laugh when people fall down--as long as they don't get hurt ; )

Oh, that was funny! Thanks for sharing your 'unfortunate' Walmart moment with us. I imagine Taj loved the ride in the grocery cart! That would have been funny to watch! Sorry about your skinned knee! :(

I would have loved to have been there to see Taj's shorts playing the up and down game, and those most awesome unds, haha! :D

This was SOOOO funny, but I also feel bad for your owie knee! :(

Yesterday at the mall I stepped on somebody's spilled drink, and before I knew it, My flip flops made my feetsies slip in opposite directions...my arms flew up in the air and I was suddenly doing a really awkward version of the splits! I looked like such a complete idiot! :O

Oh yeah, that's funny, I wish I could have been in the parking lot.

I think Taj should have to nurse your wounded knee, it's his fault with his self-depantsing and wild cart riding ways.

I feel your pain. When I go out with my 3, 2, and 1 year olds, we usually end up being the sideshow. I don't even get embarrassed anymore. I think I have unintentionally developed a good "what are you looking at face?"

Thanks for the laugh. I totally watched the whole thing take place in my head. It's always good to know you're not alone! =}

I not only watched it in my head, I hit rewind and did a slow motion replay. I hope your knee feels better soon!
We got #1 on film once jumping around at the beach and his shorts fell down...he just looked down and kept on jumping. I put it in a slideshow that is I posted a few days ago on my Daily Dose blog. Too bad you didn't have a camera for Taj.

Hee Hee Hee, we mock your pain and laugh with you!

Oh, man! That's funny! The shorts around his ankles - that's great - at least he had underwear on (doesn't seem to always happen here.)

Sorry about your poor knee!

I'm not sure if I would have laughed at you or cried for you. And if I was in your position, I'm not sure whether I would have laughed or cried either... As you tell it, it was funny. You're great entertainment!
