Aging arms

A couple of years ago Sei and I were playing "The Newlywed Game" with a couple we are good friends with. One of the questions for the men was "Name a part on your wife's body that is aging." When I gave my answer I said "My b00bs." I mean, hello- 5 kids... But Sei had written "Her arms." Whaaaa? My arms are aging!? He said he thought it was a "safe" answer. He thought wrong. Ever since then it's been a joke- how my arms are aging so much. But now when I look at them- I think he may be right. My arms are lookin' like flabby, untoned, old lady arms blowing in the wind as I wave. That's not good. And I know what I need to do to fix that- eat better, exercise, toning workouts with weights, etc...- but I'm so NOT motivated!! I mean, I could do some push ups everyday- that's easy enough. But do I? No. I have a freakin' membership to the rec center. They have a daycare. Do I go? No. I have no excuse, so what is my problem??? Someone tell me. I don't know what the deal is. I totally go in and out of motivated periods. I should be motivated- I have a 5k to run in around Halloween. So... yeah. Help.

PS. Bret Michaels chose Jes. I totally called it!

I totally hate the flabby arm thing! I do pushups and arm weights all the time, and still...my stinkin' 12 year-old likes to grab my upper arm and jiggle it all around and tell me how fat it is! Grrr...

But it's AWESOME that your hubby totally disagreed with YOUR answer, haha! :D

And I was so first! ;)

Aging arms with speculum hands....

You do know that made me totally crack up, right?

Everything on me is aging....everything except my brain. Hey, we're supposed to trade ugliness for some smarts and wisdom and maturity. What's going on with me????

So let me get this straight: had he said your b00bs were aging, this would have been better?

I will never understand women.

Yeah...whatever Tori!

That question was really not fair (poor Sei) I vote that question should be shot and burned immediately.

Aw poor Omar. Abandon all hope.

PS: Wolves!! yeah!

Yep, I go through those periods of motivation/unmotivation too!

It was so fun to have you at the discussion today! Jacob is all yours! :D

If you figure out the answer to this one, please enlighten me. I think I might be (finally heading in the generally direction of slightly) motivated. I actually got on the eliptical machine for 13 whole minutes today. Woo-Hoo! Go me!

yep, mine blow in the breeze too.

If exercise were fun everyone would be doing it

I am with NCS- What kind of a question was that? He could've been in trouble in so many ways.

BTW- I haven't noticed your arms blowing in the wind. If you want to have a contest, you will so lose;)

( Sei is brave- Al probably would've taken the 5th)

The Relief Society Arms...I have em...I hate em. I have super strong legs, but the arms are just a weak spot for me. I circuit training my arms. It just needs to be done. When see people with really tones arms I am sooooo jealous.

I just gotta tell ya that I love your song of the day. It's one of my favs. Your quote cracks me up, too.

Yea I am tired and should just go to bed. I meant to say "I HATE circuit training my arms," and "When I see people with really TONED arms, I am sooooo jealous.

I COULD MAKE YOU FEEL SO BETTER IF I POSTED MY ARMS ON MY BLOG--but sorry I won't do it.

You are a babe...and EVERYONE knows it...especially Sei.

Hmm...for the motivation...maybe you could like set up a reward system?

Abbie said...

Seems like Sei has a little arm infatuation: aging arms, "and now I come to you with broken arms". What's next?

Doing the Relief Society wave back at ya! ;)

Lol at omar! Poor guys!

The best motivation for me is that I have to sign up ahead of time to take Megan to daycare at the gym. It is a lot harder to not go when I've already commited to going. Still I have called in a cancelled before. I struggle with the motivation and commitment bigtime! But when I'm there it feels so good, or hurts so good, and I wonder why I have such a hard time getting there!

A 5k sounds like good motivation!

Catch up on your Ally McBeal episodes. One of the characters had a thing where he thought "arm waddle" was sexy. I've embraced mine.

Nancy- You look awesome and are so my inspiration. Now if I would just USE your inspiration to motivate my lazy bum...

Elastic- Speculum. I just couldn't help myself. I had so much fun chattin' with you!!

Omar- B00bs would have earned us points. I like to win. I would have cried later. Come on- get with the program man.

NCS- Yeah. It was definitly a loaded question. Thanks again for my wolfy pics. I heart them big time!!

Kayelyn- Well, they definitely jiggle when I way. Maybe not actually blow... but I'm sure they will with time. This was my fave song in like 8th grade or something.

Ashley- No worries. I understood you. :)

Yvonne- Come on!! PLEASE!!!!!

Lauren- My rewards would all center around food. :(

Abbie- I know! What's up with that??

Amanda- Yes, the 5k *should* be great motivation. I'll be running like the week before like last year. :(

Millie- I didn't know. AWESOME!!!

Thanks y'all!!

I am completely with you on this. I have a daughter that is begging me to go to the gym with her and I just can't make myself do it.

My arms are chubby. I get a little sad about it some times. But I still don't do any weight lifting. I have this theory that if I keep running, my arms will magically tone themselves. I let you know if that works out.

5K? you are so cool!

grrrr, the newlywed game. that game is so retarded. sorry if you love it. i am laughing really hard about sei saying that your arms were aging. that is a great safe answer so he doesn't get in trouble! you're gonna run in a 5k around halloween? you are superwoman.

I have the same problem. I'm not motivated either. I was watching the Today Show one morning and they showed how to work that off with free weights.

I did it for about a week and became "unmotivated". It really is something I should work on though.
