Family prayer

Mom: "Who wants to say the family prayer??"
Dad: "Taj, do you want to say it?"
Taj: "No. But my foot does."
(We're trying to help Taj become more comfortable saying his own prayer, so we often have special guests for family prayer- His bumblebee doll, Optimus Prime, a Superman figure...)
Dad: "Your foot? Um. Ok, well sit up so it can say the prayer."

Taj sits up and starts moving his toes as a high pitched voice says "Dear Heavenly Father...."

Taj's foot finishes its prayer and Sei calls on Izzy to give the prayer. She starts and as I sit with my eyes closed I feel something near my face. I peek to see what it is - it's a foot. Taj has his foot right in my face and he starts whispering, "Smell it Mom. Smell my foot." "No Taj. Be quiet." "But Mom, it's clean. I washed it. It smells good." And right as he finishes that last sentence.... he farts. Really loudly. I couldn't help myself. I started laughing. I laughed so hard I cried. Then everyone else started too. It felt good to laugh really hard, just kinda weird timing... :)

ROFL!!!! Kids are so funny, at some of the most non-funny times! :) Sometimes a good laugh does a body (or soul) good. :)

That Taj sounds sooo funny...that sounds like something that could happen in our home but the farts would be coming from some of the older people in our home...and not from me!

Read the reply I gave to you there-- just so you don't end up getting jerked like I did. I lost a hundred bucks and several hours of work.

Boys are so gross!

I just had a giant fart-off competition with my brother in the parking lot of a shopping center. My oldest daughter walked away disgusted while my brother and I both about fell over laughing. Ummmm, he's 24 and I'm 33. There may have been prayer involved......like my daughter praying that nobody she knew would see her with a couple of gassy goofballs.

So glad I am not the only one who loses it during prayers. The one that stands out is when my younger sister was just 3 and as she blessed by mom's twin sisters she said, "Bless the rain and the rain." (Elaine & Lorraine) I tried to hold it in. Oh I tried hard. I failed. I got in so much trouble, but it still makes me laugh hard even today, 30 years later!

I love you kids. I love that you are a cool mom.

I can't even begin to tell you how many times we have hysterically laughed instead of being reverent for family prayer! And we often have invited (or not) guests to prayer also.
