I double-dog dare you!

So.... Sei has been helping Tristan with his talk for Sunday. So far it sounds great. But being the dorks we are we had to include a dare. You know- like when you give the speaker a word - like "constipation"- they HAVE to use a some point during the talk? Or like my friend dared me to use sign language while giving my talk. So, while introducing my family I said how many kids we had. I said "I had 3. He had 2. We have 2 together, so 7 total." I signed every number. ASL numbers are different than regular finger counting, so people were probably going "What is she doing??" And I started laughing like a dork as I winked at my friend.
Anyway... Tristan's dare is to talk like Napoleon at some point. He can say "My mom is the coolest" or "My mom drinks 1%, but she could drink whole if she wanted to." Or something along those lines. I even told him if he talks like Pedro then it counts too. "It's my mom's birthday today. I might build her a cake or something..."
I quoted my brother once in a talk. I said, "Elder Walker A. W____ said...." I wonder if anyone caught that- wondering "Who the heck is Elder W_____??"
Tristan says he's gonna do it, but I bet he'll chicken out. We'll see... I would love for him to quote a song in his talk like Bill and Ted. "All we are is dust in the wind dude." "Dust. Wind." "Dude."

that's pretty funny!
I can't imagine trying to work sign language into a talk. Mainly because I don't know any sign language.

Can't wait to hear what he does. I'm sure it will be great.

You were smart to work in the sign language like you did! Let us know if he ends up doing Napoleon! LOL!

I think if he did a Napoleon that would be flippin' sweet.

That is SO awesome. I wish I could hear it. You guys are hilarious.

I'm anxious to hear if he does it. If he does a good one (any one would be good, I'm convinced) tell him I'll send him his favorite candy. Yeah, tell him a strange lady from the internet will send him candy for being funny.

And while you are at it, tell him I can't find my puppy...

I wish I could hear his talk...Tori, you kill me. I am always scared to death while giving talks...maybe I should try your little tricks to help calm the nerves! :)

By the way, did you get those weird emails sent from the family? Do you guys know who that "secret" person was? I felt bad for that person...

I hope he does the Napoleon Dynamite thing. That would be really funny.

I am not brave enough to do silly things.

I would LOVE to hear a talk with something Napoleon in it! Gosh!

I really love Bill and Ted. One of Lauren's friends swiped my DVD of it, and I had to buy another one.

hahaha, i love the idea of daring someone to do this. i added something to my Sacrament talk a couple weeks ago. i saw a returned missionary do this a couple months ago when she got back. at the end of her talk, instead of just saying in the name of ..., she picked this up on her mission, she ends everything with "this is my testimony" and then says the ending. i loved it when i heard her say it the first time. she was so stoked happy when she heard me say her thing at the end of my talk and she gave me a big ole hug. sweet girl!

hope he had fun with his talk.

nighty night awesome tori,
kathleen :)
