Random Tuesday (I can do it on whatever day I want)

~ Sei played the piano in sacrament on Sunday. It was BEA-U-TI-FUL, of course. I think he always totally surprises people. They don't expect the man with a million kids to totally rock on the piano. Here's a clip of part of what he played. It's part of his Restoration Medley. If you have his cd you have the whole medley. (If you want his cd email me.) Pay no attention to the weird lady you may hear in the background...

~ So far I have 297 songs on my iPod. I love how I can make playlists on it. I've been making a running playlist. As I run I make a mental note if one of the songs don't work for me. Like, for example, I thought Destiny Child's "Survivor" would work. Nope. I didn't like it. But Blue Oyster Cult's "Don't Fear the Reaper" worked. Must be the cowbell...

~ The bishop invited us over last nite for swimming and banana splits. I was NERVOUS to go. I'm such a dork. But we had a good time and it was nice to see that even though he's the bishop at church, he's still a normal guy with a good sense of humor. And his wife says "Crap." A lot. Yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss.

~ We got our stimulus check a couple of weeks ago. We decided to use part of it to build up our food storage. I food storage used to consist of a some ramen and gas money to get to my parent's house. Now I think we'd be ok for a few months. I still have some things I'd like to add to it, but for the most part it's ok.

~ My brother's fiance flies in today. We are having a bridal shower for her on Saturday. It's Texas-themed since she's moving here from Vegas. I think it'll be lots of fun. I'm a hostess, of course it will ROCK!

Extra 1000 points if you can get your bishop to cuss. :)

I'm SURE it was the cowbell.

I enjoyed Sei's playing so much--he plays beautifully. I LOVED your comment at the end (did you stand up and say that after he played at Sacrament Meeting ; )

Regarding "Don't Fear the Reaper"--I was reading about Jim Jones and the whole Jonestown massacre and that's what he said to all his followers to encourage them to drink the "kool-aid".

Bishops are just like everybody else, and so are their wives. I'm glad you had a good time at their house.

I'm sure the bridal shower will be wonderful.

How can you not jam to cowbell?

We used to have a bishop who swore and rode a harley. The first time I heard him,I giggled. He was such an awesome and generous guy.

Have fun with the bridal shower! :)

Sei is awesome, I love the cd.

Matt claimed our stimulus check for his account which is basically for emergencies etc. No fun! I was thinking a shopping spree :)

Love Sei's playing!

I love that the bishop's wife says crap. I just might be a bishop's wife someday. That's pretty much the only thing holding us back. That and the shoplifting.

That is one of my favorite hymns. Sei played it at my dad's funeral for me. So beautiful.

Oh, that's so beautiful! I love it when my kids practice the hymns so I can have the music going! I bet you love to hear him practice.

Fun post!

I wish I could play the piano, but I'm not that talented. I wouldn't mind a CD!!!

I have a really good friend who says sh!t, d@mn, and @ss. And, her husband is a bishop. Just reminds me that we are all human!

Sei's CD is GREAT! Your ward members are lucky they can listen to him at church! :)

I sure wish we would get our stimulus check soon...it's already spent! Planning a wedding means I've been stimulating the economy all over the place!
