Family talents

So... today Kelsea and Karlea arrived from Canada for their summer visit. They'll be here until Aug. 20 or 21. I forget. Kelsea told me, "I am so excited to be here. To see Dad, and Tristan & Alec & Isabel & Taj & Liv." Ahh, to be loved. I'm hoping she just omitted my name because she was talking to me and felt it was implied. Ya think? :P

We went to the pool and lifeguards kicked us out because it thundered. Not lightinged (however you spell it)- thundered. They said we had to wait 20 minutes before getting back in. Yeah- with a 2 yr old. Good one. So instead we cruised to my parents to water their flowers while they are out of town. My brother, Woogie and his wife, Lissette are staying there until their apartment is ready. I'm not sure why I'm in charge of watering the flowers while they are staying there. Maybe I am just THAT good. Who knows?? Anyway, during this visit with them we discovered that Lissette, Kelsea and Karlea can all lick their elbows. Taj can lick his armpit which he mistook for his elbow when I asked him to lick it. Woogs and I can't lick our elbows. K, K and L don't even have freakishly long Gene Simmons tongues or funky short arms. They can all just kinda jack their arms back weird and lick their elbows. Weird.
I did have success in squishing my nose down as flat as I could and barely licking it. I was stoked! I'm not sure *why* now that I'm typing that...

Another great talent I discovered is that I can do the "frog pose" in yoga. I don't do yoga and I'm flabby, fat and weak, but I can do this pose. This always bugged my mom because she does yoga and she's actually strong, skinny and toned, but for some reason this pose evades her. So... being the kind, thoughtful daughter I am, I try to make her feel better by staying flabby, fat and weak. :)

What? Are these not the kind of things you do when you're bored hangin' with the family?

I'm so glad the girls arrived from Canada. Of course, Kelsea didn't say you because she was talking to you ; ) Enjoy their visit.

I guess I'm not talented--I can't lick my elbow and I can't do a frog pose. But I can chew gum and walk at the same time!!!

AND I WAS FIRST!!!!

If you're fat, I'm Jabba the Hutt.

*crying and running away*

"Can lick its own armpit" is an awesome Mad Lib adjective. :)

Glad you're having fun with the twinners!

Glad that the twins made it there safely! Of course they are happy to see you too. They were probably so overjoyed to be in your presence that they neglected to mention your name. ;)

Wow! Your family has some amazing talents! I cannot lick my elbow, I just tried. I can however squish my nose down and touch it with my tounge, I just did it. I'm not going to attempt to lick my armpit, sorry!

So, I decided to be braver than Amanda and I tried to lick my armpit. I CAN DO IT!!! I'm not sure what that means for my family talents. :P

However, the elbow evades me.

Oh, and I'm Jabba the Hut Sr.

You were teasing me with the picture of Gene Simmons. I thought you had a favorite KISS song and story about it or something. What? I am the only one who got excited about that?

Girl, you're crazy. Fat, flabby, and weak? You are a mega babe!

I can do the stork yoga pose. But I think most people probably can do that one! I used to be able to put both legs behind my head. But I also used to have a nice little tight belly and no gray hairs. Man, things change don't they!?

The elbow, as in the tip of the elbow?
Forget it, I can't ;)

You forgot to mentioned that your are one talented dancer.

Talent? I can eat all the dry cereal in the house.

Nope, I can't lick my elbow. So I guess that talent evades me too! And as far as yoga goes, I'm just not coordinated enough to do most of it. I'm always toppling over. So I bow to your frog-post greatness! :)

hi tori,
maybe they thought the newleyweds would be too busy, hehehe.

that is so neat that you can do that. i have one for you. i can fold my legs "indian style" (sorry, don't know what else to call it) and taking the legs folded up in that position, i can walk around the room on my knees. it is wild. can you picture it? now this is not something that most people do. hehe. and i am definitely flabby etc, so it is even more impressive that i can do this. my big brother and i used to practice yoga together when we were kids and he taught me this one.

great day girlie, kathleen

alas my tounge is too short to do any of those. The only thing my tounge can reach is the end of a spoon...filled with Ben and Jerry's

Yay for crazy yoga poses and stupide human tricks...we used to do those on Sunday evenings when I was in school.

bwahahaha

Oooh I want to learn stupide human tricks because they would be so much cooler than stupid human tricks...;)

Not only can I not lick my elbow, but I just got some strange looks from my coworkers. Thanks.

I'd try to see if I could do the yoga pose too, but I think I've already suffered enough embarrassment because of you today. :)

Wow...yeah...Kelsea and Karlea are there, eh? That's awesome, eh? I see from your counter that all the kids will be there in less than 2 days, so your three get to get away from the hoser, eh? (Sorry, I had to get the Canadian jokes out of the way):)

I'm so glad you'll all be together soon! Keep working on that elbow licking thing...

This post inspired me to attempt something I've never even dreamed of trying...licking my elbows.

I failed miserably.

I DID lick my pits...does that count for anything?
