It's time

It's been a while since I've handed one of these babies out, but I think it's time. I did a Tad Award once to "Anonymous" & to Riot Grrl (a commenter who thought she had me all figured out...) because anonymous commenters that just leave rude comments for no reason suck. Well, I'm gonna expand that award to include people who actually leave a link to their blog but leave comments that are uncalled for. This Tad Award is not to the anonymous commenter on my "Rosemary's Baby" post because that poor commenter will get her's. She was just ignorant. She has no clue that by saying "My child will never act like that..." just means that they most certainly will. Karma is a bio-tch. I still think it was a joke- because NO ONE is that dillusional...

I just don't get why people feel the need to kick someone while they're down. I've read posts on other blogs and had things I wanted to say that weren't really nice, but figured there was no point in leaving a rude comment. NO POINT. I don't know that person, I don't know what they are going thru. I remember after my sister died I was walking around in a fog, finding it hard to believe that people were going thru normal, everyday life while I was... not. People had no clue what I was feeling or thinking at that time. And I've ALWAYS remembered that.
When "c.h." decided to leave rude comments on my Lauren's blog I was all over her. Maybe c.h. was having a bad day, but why come and say really hurtful things to Lauren- especially when she knew she was going in for surgery? It was uncalled for. Or when I first moved back to Texas I was having a very hard time dealing with different issues that come with living so close to the ex. Most people who have read my blog for any real amount of time know the story behind the ex, or at least have an idea. But this one commenter always seemed to have the need to defend my ex- like I must be the psycho ex-wife and he is perfect because he donated $perm. She didn't have a clue about anything and she didn't know me, but she would leave comments pretty much attacking me as a mother because I didn't give him "respect." Respect is earned and showing the kids anti-Mormon movies does not earn my respect. Sorry.

And then yesterday- The freakin' post was titled "Blah." I said I was feeling "Blah", missing my kids, etc... And just a couple of days ago I witnessed a girl get hit by a car. I've kinda been a wreck for a few days. So, what does BadAti2d feel the best reply would be? "You picked 'im." BadAti2d has visited before and that's what he does- he starts stuff for fun. He even has emailed me before and we had a nice chat about Mormons (he's not one.) Most of the time the comments I've seen him make here and on other blogs are funny to me. But it wasn't funny yesterday. Yes, I was married to the idiot. I was and I'm paying for it now. But he was LDS while we were married. He was raising the kids LDS. I'm not the one that changed religions. I've continued to raise the kids LDS. He can leave the church, but apparently he can't leave the church alone. Why do you think that is? Does the church he attends not have more to offer than anti-Mormon classes and donuts? I don't feel the need to preach against his church, so why preach against mine? There was no reason, no excuse to show Tristan an anti-Mormon movie. It was wrong. It was hurtful. And your comment sucked.

People need to be more thoughtful or if you don't know the whole story you need to shut up.
So, to all lame comment makers- take your award and leave my blog.
Thanks.

I have a few quotes for your tad award winners.

Be kinder than necessary for everyone is fighting some kind of battle. -Philo
(This does not apply to ex's that bring on the battle.

Be slow to judge for we know little of what has been done and nothing of what has been resisted. -Rudyard Kipling

As always--well deserved. I love the quotes from klin.

I'm so sorry someone left a comment like that--I just don't understand.

Like you guys have said:

They see you bloggin'

They hatin'

As long as you remember that those of us who dig and support you significantly outnumber the haters. We'd win in a fight.

On an unrelated note, my kid has recently gotten into Yo Gabba Gabba (I had never heard of it before you mentioned it once a while back). And while I can see why you said it drove you crazy, I'm finding it hard to hate on a show that brings beatboxing to the kids. Because as far as I'm concerned, that should be a required skill.

You freakin go girl. Seriously...you just said EVERYTHING that I have wanted to say. People just suck...

"My blog brings all the haters to the yard...Yeah yeah..my blog is bettah than yours."

I think you and I should have that theme song set to "my milkshake brings all the boys to the yada yada yada..."

Klin- GREAT quotes! Thanks!!

Yvonne- I didn't really understand it either. And obviously I wasn't in the mood. ;)

Omar- Livie actually gets her mic and does "Biz's Beat of the Day." It's pretty rad. I prefer Yo Gabba Gabba over Max & Ruby anyday. Ugh.

Lauren- I LOVE our theme song!!! We can wear our tshirts and make a video!! YAY!

Who been hatin' on my Tori?

You nailed it when you said they were just here to start something. These are bored, mean, small, lifeless little brats who are bothering you on your blog.

You're awesome and we all think so. And so is your Church. ;)

I missed this whole thing! I can't even believe that he would show anti stuff as punishment, and I seriously think that there are probably legal things that can be done.
I love the Tad award! ☺ I hope they came to collect.

You openly invite a response, and then whine about it when it's not in the vein you were shooting for? Give better directions next time.

You know- scratch that last comment I made to you badati2d. I guess the point of this post was WHY? Why would you, someone who rarely comments on any blogs, decide THAT post was the appropriate time to comment and THAT comment was the appropriate comment to leave? Obviously I was upset. Obviously it's been a tough few weeks. Why did you think "Hey! I have a GREAT comment idea!" It makes no sense and it was pretty insensitive and not thoughtful at all.

Mean commenters suck. Almost as much as stupid exes.

Sorry to hear you've had a rough few days.

(((Hugs)))

And then they show up again. . .

Your invitation does not say anything about leaving meanness. Maybe they cant read.

So hi there. Hello from Utah.
Salutations from one mom to another.

Because not only do you rail on your kids' father - the guy you thought good enough to have three kids with, and are going to have to have a relationship with until the time that you can convince a judge otherwise - where the world can see (and your posse can support you with the sticks and stones that aren't being thrown). You end it with an invitation for a defending opinion so that you can rail some more.

That's uncool.

rude comments are so lame and immature. I mean seriously, is your life that miserable that you want to bring other people down to your level??
I feel like kickin' @$$, let me know where and when.

Tori :) said...

No- "uncool" would be defending someone like him, unless you are someone like him. Hmmm...
Whatever...
