Our Family

Kelsea and Karlea left early this morning to go back to Canada. :( My heart is always very heavy when they leave because I love those girls. The 1st 3-4 years with them was hard for me as their step-mom. I didn't know my place and they weren't really diggin' me. Not to mention having three 3 yr olds at the same time was pretty challenging! But the last 3-4 years have been great. I love when they come to visit. Our family feels complete. So when they are gone or when Tristan, Alec and Isabel are gone... it's hard. It's not right. :(

I am always a lot sadder when K and K leave than I let on. I've kinda learned to put up a shield when it comes to feelings for K and K because I was hurt so much early on by their rejection. Not to mention I know Sei is sad and me being a big bawl baby doesn't help. I just hope they know how much I love them. They are sweet, sweet girls who make our family whole. And I miss them when they're gone. It's funny when we have all 7 kids here. When our family is getting out of the car we look like clowns at the circus-- how many fit in the car!? And I am constantly asked "Are they all yours??" :)

We took these pics on Sunday. I think they turned out ok.

Love you Kels and Kar!!

I know exactly what you're saying--it is hard. I love how you said at first you didn't know your place, but I think you have done a FANTASTIC JOB.

The pictures are so beautiful. (That bottom one is so cute ; )

You really are a beautiful woman.

Great pictures! You do have a beautiful family. I am a step-mom to 3 and i do agree it is very rough in the beginning and even now i still have my moments with them. You never know what line to cross or not cross or even if their is a line..ahhhhh. But, i am sure years from now i will look back and say that I was so glad to have them in my life.

I imagine they dread leaving too, I have a feeling it's fun to be in your pack :)...

Gorgeous pictures - the colors are wonderful. I love the red fance background.

I also think it's neat that you've become so attached to Sei's girls - proof of your great big heart. It would be really easy to tolerate them, put up with them, etc. because you HAVE to but you have chosen to love them and that makes a huge difference.

You're a good mom :)

Cute, cute, cute! Your sprinkler system must be working well, because your grass looks really green compared to the last time I saw it!

Turned out OK!? Are you high?! They are beautiful. I don't even know what kind of magic it takes to get 9 people looking that great in several pictures. 9 adults, maybe. Seven kids? Impossible.

I love the swing set picture and the one with all boys and all girls. SO CUTE.

Sorry you have to say goodbye to the girls. That would be tough! You are a great mom!

Lol at nobody's comment, and I agree with her. It is near impossible to get that many people looking good and smiling all at the same time! Your family is so beautiful Tori! Taj looks so different with his short hair, I almost wondered who he was at first. ;)

I love that last one, and am jealous of your pretty green grass.

In my rush to be first, I didn't indicate my favorite. It's the one with the kids on the swingset.

Well look who's late to the party? Me. What am I, like #25 :)

You did great with those pics. I love them all. How will you ever decide which one to send whom for Christmas?

You did some fun combinations, too.

Sorry they had to go back. That must be sad for everyone. You ARE a good mom. You just can't hear that too many times.
