5 am text message

"All D______ ISD schools are CLOSED today due to inclement weather. All activities are CANCELED."

Yep, I received this text yesterday at 5:40 am and today at 5am. We've had 2 "snow days" minus the snow. The roads were suppose to be icy yesterday afternoon so they canceled school so kids wouldn't end up stranded. What a waste of a snow day. It didn't get icy until last nite. The roads are horrible right now and my poor husband had to drive 10 miles to work. It took him almost an hour. That's the downside of being a cop- you have to go to work during crappy weather so you can help with all the accidents. :(

It's been nice having my kiddos home. I've been lazy hanging out in my bed. The kids playing their PS2 or PS3 or whatever we have. I finally had time to thread my sewing machine. Yesssssssssssssss. I was a wannabe Nancy yesterday. I hemmed 2 pairs of Izzy's pj pants, fixed Alec's bedspread, made a hippie vest out of a fringed tie-dye shirt for hippie day at school and made headbands out of the material I cut off Izzy's pants. Yeah. I'm pretty awesome- as long as you don't look closely at the stitching...

So... I've been a lame blogger. What are some things you'd like to know about me? Gimme some ideas. This is like my 850th post when you take out all the blog ads (which I have been doing. If you go back in my blog I've deleted a TON.) So, for my "about 850th post" I'd like to ask YOU to ask me questions or suggest topics to post about.

GO MAVS! They play tonite and I'm tired of them suckin' it up.

The end.

I don't think you are a lame blogger. I am always entertained :)

I will never experience what a snow day is like. (1) because I don't go to school. (2) it doesn't snow.

Anyway...how about you tell us what has been making you happy lately? That always works for me!

I'd love to see more pictures of your new home, inside and out! Maybe you already did that awhile back, but I missed it. So just direct me to the right post if you did! :)

What else? Hmm...what are your 5 favorite current songs playing on the radio.

I miss you!!! You could come and have a snow day here! ;)

We could have snow days here EVERY DAY!!!! I struggle so much with whether or not to cancel Seminary. I worry about the kid's driving.

Enjoy your days.

You go with that little sewing machine.

I'd just like to know HOW YOU DO IT ALL???? Frankly, I don't think you need any help with blog ideas--you have kept me coming back time and time again. Lame blogger--I DON'T THINK SO!!!

When are we going to get another edition of 911 calls--loved that.

Questions? I can do that.

- What's your social security number and mother's maiden name?
- Your team's down one with 7 seconds to go and has the ball at midcourt. Does the coach design the play to get you the ball, or to have you set the pick?
- Which was your easiest child birth experience?
- When you were 18, how many kids did you envision yourself having?
- Who's more awesome: me or Lauren?
- When are you and Sei planning to visit Palmyra, NY?
- Let's say commissioner David Stern calls your house and says, "We're starting a new program to engage our young NBA fans. I can send one NBA player to spend an afternoon at your house." He offers to send Dirk, Kobe, or Steve Nash. Who do you pick, and why?

My work here is done.

Ok Tori, Have you read my blog? My posts are Lame-O expecially compared to yours. You don't want me to come up with ideas.

I love reading about your kids and family; Mushy posts about Sei; play by play basket ball recaps starring your son; how awesome your kids are; what your dream vacation would be; what you want to do for the blogger get away this year; the intelligent things that Livie says and signs and the funny things that Taj says.

Maybe even what your kids think about the new President or other political things.

Are you sorry you asked?

I can't believe the kids have had 2 days out of school! Mine are actually ready to go back. lol I want to know (after reading your FB note) how in the heck did you date and marry Sei in 3 mos?! I feel like I have to date someone for forever before I will marry them - of course that is probably because I made a really bad choice the first go round... You probably already blogged that, but I wasn't reading way back then! And of course, pics are always the bomb - even the really old ones! Good job on the sewing - I keep saying I want to learn... :)

Snow days w/o snow? Man. I'm impressed w/your sewing skills. I'm good to sew on a button or iron on a patch.
Questions...hmmm....
What's your favorite flavor of ice cream?
Disneyland or Disney World?
Favorite movie?
Summer or winter?
Favorite vacation?
