Happy Birthday DAD!! (Edited to add my random memory...)

Today is mi padre's birthday!!! YAY!!! I love my dad. He's so cool and easy-going. It's funny because I look more like my mom, but I think a lot of my personality comes from my dad. (Not that anything is wrong with you Mom... Nor do I mean to insult you Dad.) The kids love him. Isabel was so jealous that he coached Alec's bball team this year, so he said he would coach her next year. He's a very involved dad and was always very involved in coaching, etc... He works hard. He owns his own CPA firm and is very good at it- so he's very busy. He also team-teaches early morning seminary with my mom. (Seminary is a scripture study class for grades 9-12 at 6am). He played basketball growing up and was All-State and All-American in high school. After sifting thru his 100+ scholarship offers he chose to come to North Texas so he was away from his home in Louisiana but close enough so his parents could drive to his home games. Thanks Dad- because of you, I am a Texan. Woo hoo!

** Edited to add this memory that I got sidetracked from putting in from the begining...
When I was a sophmore I played JV basketball. My sister was on varsity. My dad had an audit he had to do one evening. We had a game in Witchita Falls which is like 90 minutes from here. He told us he didn't think he'd be there because of the audit. That very rarely happened. We ALWAYS had a parent at our games. But my mom wasn't able to come because of the distance, so no parent would be there that nite. I'll never forget, it was the 3rd quarter, we were on defense and I happened to glance up and see my dad walking in. He had worked all day til late and still drove the 1 1/2 hours to watch our games and drive us home. How cool is that? I hope we won and I didn't play crappy...

My dad is "Jack Ryan" with a thick, southern accent.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!!

♥ you!

you know, I know SO many people that have birthdays this week and next - more than any other time of year! You know what I figured out? They must have all been conceived on July 4th!!! Both of mine were Labor Day babies - they had the same due date in June. I bet there are lots of babies born 9 mos after major holidays. LOL! Happy Birthday Uncle Tony!

Happy Birthday to your dad. I have great respect for Seminary Teachers--always have. And I love parents that are always at their kids sporting events. What a guy.

Clear and Present Danger is one of my favorite movies.
What does the Secretary say to Anne Archer about her boyfriend (the bad guy) "he's a Latin Jack Ryan"--glad your dad isn't Latin ; )
