Memory House series Book 1 & 2 by Bette Lee Crosby

I've had Memory House on my kindle for a while, and I'm not sure why I waited so long to read it. Bette Lee Crosby is one of those "go to" authors where you know you're going to love the story no matter what. I haven't read one book by her that I haven't thoroughly enjoyed.
This book made me happy because it was full of memories of characters from other Crosby books that I've read! There were glimpses into The Twelfth Child, Passing Through Perfect, Previously Loved Treasures, and Jubilee's Journey. You get to meet Ethan Allen again from Spare Change. That was the first book I read by Bette Lee Crosby! It was like having a reunion! :) Although you revisit these characters, you don't have to have read those books in order to enjoy Memory House. It was just kind of like finding an Easter egg in a movie.
Annie stumbles upon Memory House by chance and meets Ophelia, an almost 90 year old woman who can "feel" memories from objects. She knows she will be leaving this earth soon and needs to find a successor to take care of the memories. They form a special friendship, as Annie's memory sensing grows and Ophelia's seems to dim.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. My only complaint is that it seemed to end abruptly. However, I just finished the 2nd book in this series, so I wasn't left wondering what happened with Annie & Ophelia.

The Loft is the second book in the Memory House series. Again- a great book written by Bette Lee Crosby! I finished Memory House, the first book in this series, this past weekend and couldn't wait to continue the journey with Annie and Ophelia in The Loft. This continues on with Annie's new marriage and lots of changes in everyone's lives. When Annie's new husband, Oliver, has a tragic accident, Annie searches for the one memory that can bring him back.
I couldn't help but fall in love with the characters in this series. Annie is so selfless and loving, while Ophelia is feisty and wise. And Oliver... that man is so in love. I look forward to the next 2 books in the series, What the Heart Remembers and Baby Girl. But for now I'll just say fabulous book, and so far, a fabulous series!!
